You think this time of year is about giving but it's really about find the right gift to give those you love. That is easier said than done most of the time and can be exasperating after you have looked for days on end.
Another frustrating thing for me, outside of the fact that I hate the crowds and the traffic around the shopping centers, is that I have trouble finding what I am looking for. Most of the gifts I give are either outdoor or garden related. It's the one thing I have in common with most of my friends and family.
Now you know why I do 99% of my shopping on the internet. I don't worry about items not being in stock and I don't fight traffic and crowds. It's the perfect way for me to purchase gifts at any time of the year.
There seems to be a lot more to look at and to choose from on an online store. The prices are very good and the products range from the fun gazing balls to statues and wall art. You can find gifts from the teens to the hundreds of dollars.
I also know that there are several things that any gardener will always use from year to year. Things like planters and hanging baskets, window boxes and raised beds and watering cans, plant stands and pot holders. These can always be utilized by someone who loves flowers.
Then you have the gifts for the designer gardener. These are the guys and gals that have every flower marked with a tag, a sitting area that looks like it could be in a magazine and small garden treasures scattered throughout their garden domain. I call them the sentimental gardeners. They have a story to tell about each garden trinket and love receiving more.
Since these guys love getting gifts with more than thought behind them I try to find something that will evoke a story or meaning. I look at statutes and lanterns, wall friezes and bird houses. Anything that will bring an emotion whether it be laughter or tears because I know they love this type of gift.
I also love to shop online because I don't like to pack, wrap or ship anything. Buying online and having them ship it is great! Free shipping is fine but even if I have to pay for shipping, I will. Just the fact that someone else is doing it is a deal to me.
Let's talk about this free shipping thing anyway. With the cost of shipping these companies can't afford to give shipping to you for free so I'm sure they raise the prices to absorb some, if not all of the shipping expenses. It's a lot more important to me to find a company that gives me a good selection to choose from at a good competitive price that I can trust. I will pay for shipping every time from a company like that. Wouldn't you? - 16003
