What about exercise? Do I really need to exercise? What kind of exercise is best?
Aerobic exercise is essential to losing weight. In addition to burning calories, aerobic exercise lifts your spirits, benefits your muscles and bones, improves your cholesterol profile and lowers blood pressure. You feel energetic and vital. It is the single best habit that you can cultivate. Like many things in life, the hard part is just getting started. Individuals who exercise in the morning are 40% more consistent with the exercise habit. How much equipment do I need?
If you are planning a small facility (100-200 potential users), you will need at least 2 different types of major cardio machines: treadmill, bike, elliptical or stair climber. You will also need to cover the major muscle groups with strength training exercises. A multi-station machine will cover your minimum requirements. Can I lose body fat with kettlebells?
As famous strength coach Pavel Tsatsouline says, kettlebells will melt fat off of you without the dishonor of dieting or aerobics. Lets face it, who like to spend an hour on the treadmill, stationary bike or elliptical machine? Boring!
