Every song you are likely to hear being played today will have some type of guitar solo within it and a few may be a little more memorable than others. If you are just learning how to play this instrument then at some point in the future you are going to want to learn how to play an awesome guitar solo just like your guitar hero. However, what you need to remember that this is something that is going to take time to achieve and don't expect it to happen overnight.

The first thing that you will learn is that it is going to take you quite some time to be able to master playing the guitar if you want to play it well. But once you have gained these skills then you will need to spend more time so that you can then move beyond the limits at which you play currently. 1. At some stage during their playing of a piece of a music many professional guitarists will play a solo piece at a very fast speed. For those who cannot play the guitar they will find this kind of playing very impressive. So you have to spend time on learning the 3 note per string scales along with the pentatonic ones.

2. Learning the right finger tapping techniques as pioneered by Eddie Van Halen will help to bring the solo guitar pieces you play to a completely new level. As well as learning 2, 4 and 6 finger tapping techniques it is important that you learn the 8 one as well. In fact it is the 8 finger tapping technique which makes guitar playing sound so dramatic and along with playing it on the upper register learn to play it on the middle register and then combine the two together. Along with learning this techniques spend time learning how to tap arpeggios as this will increase the number of notes you can choose to play with.

3. For you to be able to learn how to play an awesome guitar solo you have to learn how to shred and to do this requires you having a metronome. When purchasing this piece of equipment you have the choice of purchasing one that stands on its own from your local music store or from an online one, or you can download metronome software onto your PC instead. As soon as you have the metronome you need to start practicing a particular solo piece of music and increasing the speed as and when you feel comfortable. By the time you are shredding correctly you should be playing the 16th notes at around 200 beats per second.

Over time your confidence will grow and you soon find that you are able to shred moving up and down the scales very quickly and can also sweep the pentatonic and arpeggios fast as well. It is a good idea to find a book or online course that can provide you with assistance in learning about diad's and also arpeggios.

4. It is important that once your confidence in your playing ability grows you start to move away from your comfort zones if you really want to know how to play an awesome guitar solo good. When you feel able to start experimenting as you play and don't get overly worried if at any time you start to hit a few wrong notes, as these may well sit fine with what you are playing.

If you want to learn how to play an awesome guitar solo then it is best if you stick to those that come with simple melodies when learning how to play a particular piece of music.
