Some Nice Ideas For Preparing Seafood

By Sandy Mitchell

I had a dinner party for twelve coming in about ten hours, and I had no idea what I was going to prepare. I was beginning to get nervous.

This was a major deal for us. Not just a regular dinner party, this was a party that included my husband's business partners. This dinner would be a make it or break it deal and I needed to make this dinner work. I knew that not only was my husband's big deal on the line but the new house we had been looking at.

I already had mentally mapped out all of the rooms, and what I planned on using them for. I frantically searched the cookbook for ideas, and what I thought would make a classy presentation. Most of the things that I saw just struck of cheap and ordinary, and I was getting worried.

If I served a boring pot roast or mediocre meatloaf, we were going to be in big trouble. I needed something spectacular. As I browsed the pages for inspiration, a lightbulb came on in my head. I needed seafood. Seafood recipes are classy and would be the perfect dish.

As I sat there staring blankly at what seemed to be hundreds of pages of great choices I thought seafood would be awesome. I knew that had to make something great and 'take-out' wasn't an option. I also remembered that there was a local fish market not far away that had everything.

Elegant seafood is more than shellfish with so many choices of fish based seafood recipes. Most of the recipes use cod, Chilean sea bass, red snapper or haddock, but I was surprised that all things tripe were suggested as other good choices. When I created that meal, I felt like a famous television chef.

Of course I could have always made something based with lobster. But what really drew my attention were the crab based dishes. I could make something that would pop, and make them think they were eating at a fancy restaurant, or that we had this gig catered. I'm really glad that I chose a seafood recipe!

The night went without a hitch. It was the best dinner party we had ever thrown. If it hadn't been for the food, I don't think we would have pulled the deal in, and now my husband is making six figures. I'm so glad I choose to look at the seafood recipes. I really think that it saved our life! - 16003
