A Close Look At The Z Model Train Set - Antique Train

By Steven Bryant

The Marklin company, which I've talked about before on this site were the first to create the Z model train. It was created in 1972 in Germany. This was and still is the tiniest model train in the world. The distance exactly between the two tracks of a Z model scale train track is 6.55 mm.

The great thing about the Z model scale is that it can be used in very tiny areas, but it still has great detail of the more popular HO scale series of model trains. It can fit in just about any size space.

The Z scale model train is available all over Europe and America and all over the world as well. Z scale model trains work on a 10 volt DC (direct current). While the size of the Z model is small, you can still enjoy every aspect of model railroading with this scale. It's also good for beginners and children looking to get into the hobby.

Just like with the bigger and more popular scale sizes, there are plenty of different ways you can lay the track. It's probably easier with the smaller sized scale.

Also, there is plenty of scenery you can buy as well. Z scale is becoming fastly popular and more and more recreational mode train groups are popping up as well. - 16003
