Christmas Lights History - Christmas Tree Lights

By Juliette Crane

There is nothing more beautiful than the warm glow of Christmas tree lights. I love the way they illuminate the room. They set off such a soft and warm glow. When we use colored lights the hues dance off the walls and when we use white lights, they give off a soft golden glow.

Every year I find myself sitting by the tree with a cup of hot coca or hot apple cider completely enjoying the Christmas tree lights. We have several different sets of holiday decoration lights. Some twinkle, some stay on constantly, some fade up and down, some are colored and some are white.

Every year we put up a different type of Christmas tree lights. I always enjoyed them all. I always wait for the evening of the first snowfall. I turn off all of the lights in and around the house except for the Christmas tree lights. Then I walk outside in the snow and watch how the glow plays off of the fresh powdered snow.

Some years I had to wait until well after Christmas for the first snowfall. Every year I take a few long rides to see the decorated homes, but I find myself searching for the Christmas tree lights more than anything else.

Your Christmas lights house can be adorned with large, traditional bulbs that are reminiscent of large eggs. These holiday lighting items are available in many different colors. You can stick with an all white d?cor, a cool blue effect or a warm red tone. Some people choose to mix all different colors in their themes.

My husband and I were a little overwhelmed by the outcome. There was way too much going on with this display. The Christmas light for house decorations should not be bigger than the house itself. The display seemed to swallow up our little cottage and the whole outcome was no less than disappointing.

We decided to scale down quite a bit. Instead of investing in icicle lights and flashing bulbs we figured that a few strings of twinkling lights would suit our little home much better. Although I love the idea of a lot of glow during the holiday season I really prefer something a little easier on the eyes.

Even if you don't take on a large product in your Christmas lights house display, you can start off on the right foot just by choosing the right bulbs for your project. Have a happy and bright holiday season! - 16003
