Family Vacations in Rome

Rome is a city where you can walk anywhere in the city center and this is the best way to visit the city. Wondering through Rome's old historical center is one of the most exciting experiences when in Rome.

You can admire the architectural details, live the street life, look into churches and ancient building strolling down Rome's narrow streets, go window shopping, and step into any caf? to get your caf? espresso. First, wear a comfortable pair of shoes and get out of home early.

You can easily see several of the main most visited sites in a few hours.
If you are planning on bringing your children to Rome, the best times are early spring or late fall, when the weather is just perfect.

Children are very welcome in Italy and in almost every Pizzerias and Trattorias you will find high chairs for babies on request.

Most of the restaurants in fact are fine with children eating only half-portions or sharing meals. The best pizzerias for a families are probably the old fashioned ones, this is where you will see the chefs pound, stretch, and flip the though in the air which is something very peculiar they will always remember!

At night Rome has never been as exciting as it is today: bars and clubs have increased to address an increasingly demanding clientele.

Rome now offers a large variety of new places in the centre of the city and Testaccio to satisfy all tastes and budgets. Another developed popular way is to simply relax with friends and enjoy a nice bottle of wine in a wine-bar enoteche located in any of one of the historic centre's amazing squares.

Rome also has a large offer of entertainment with Jazz, Rock, Folk, South American and world music concerts in many venues scattered around the city.

Lately, many new Italian bands are having international success and are out into the spotlight, be sure to give them a try.

Summer is the best season for entartainment especially for the many open-air rock, jazz and world music festivals. "Ippodromo delle Capannelle" has become the most popular place for events in June-July. African and World music is not forgotten and in summer there's an excellent festival taking place in Villa Ada.

Rome is scattered with popular, small local food markets and several intriguing markets near the centre. The famous flea market in Trastevere and the famous vegetable/flower market in Campo dei Fiori.

Roman markets offer a lively feel of entertainment. During the Christmas and Epiphany holidays, many stand owners present their goods in a variety of handicrafts, games, toys, and clothes. A perfect opportunity to stock up on Italian specialties.
