Dan Kennedy Information Marketing Secret: Avoid The IM Market

By Neeraj Varma

Within three years of starting to market Clickbank affiliate products, Dylan Loh has a six-figure per month income. One of the keys to his success is to not focus on selling Internet marketing products.

Dylan was interviewed by Rob Toth as part of Dan Kennedy's Info Riches course. Top information marketers were interviewed for a series called "Future Of Information Marketing".

According to Dylan the market for selling Internet marketing products is getting to be really crowded and very competitive. The problem will only get worse as more and more people discover that it is possible to make good money on the Internet.

Dylan says that "the pie is definitely big enough" so more people can enter the market and be profitable. But, he says, "with three or four launches in the same week and sometimes in the same day it's increasingly competitive".

"It's relatively easier in non-Internet-marketing niches", says Dylan. If you look real hard in Clickbank you will find lots and lots of good niche products to promote. Dylan says "my philosophy is that I always get them (new clients) to start off in the other niches then it's easier to enter and get the feel of it". After they have achieved some success they can go back to the Internet marketing niche if they want.

What happens is that when people think they want to have an Internet business they start looking online for information. They sign up for some lists and then get bombarded with offers to buy Internet marketing products. They are being targeted to buy more and more Internet marketing products because that's what they were looking for.

Many people get stuck in the IM niche. They might take an excursion into another niche for a short time but they are still signed up for the Internet marketing lists so they get sucked back in and start focusing on that niche again. Dylan says "there are so many other niches that no one is paying attention to".

People need to focus on one niche, become successful (or not) THEN move on to another niche. Start off with a non-Internet-marketing niche to get your feet wet. After you become successful in other niches you can go back to the Internet marketing niche and you will find success much easier.

Take action and focus. That's the key. "Don't over-analyze the situation." You'll be better off if you get a little understanding and just take action. You should take small steps until you know what to do. Then you can spend more time and money on things that have proven to work. Drop what doesn't work. If you want to learn you have to get started first. "Don't spend so much time trying to think of all the possible ways to be perfect", says Dylan. - 16003
