The Best Holiday Destinations in August

By Robert M Freeman

August is the time when everyone tries to get away for holidays, and as a result nearly all the spots are crowded with tourists, which make it not viable to enjoy the summer holidays. This year, you take a route off the beaten track and beat the holiday crowds. Most of the destinations discussed below are not an average visitor's destination, so you can make the best of your time by deciding to go to any one of these spots, and as a result soak up some culture and relax yourself in peace and harmony.

The first location to visit is Bulgaria. This country is well-known for its cheap holidays and low cost luxuries. An additional admired destination is Pamporovo, which is recognised for its ski resorts in winter season, but in the summer transforms into an ecological tourist destination with its fresh mountain air and dazzling mountain views.

Make sure you enjoy the culture and soak in the history by visiting Plovdiv, Tyrnovo, and Sofia (which is the country's capital city) on your stops along the way. These three cities will show you the best of the country's nightlife, shopping plazas, and entertainment. There are many historical places that can be visited, along with the many icons and manuscripts.

Another excellent spot for this year's vacation is Hungary. This beautiful country is often unnoticed due to its low profile, but it offers plenty of historical sites and saunas, which in turn depends on whether you want to go on a regular tourist trip or just relax during your holiday. The Szechenyi Thermal Bath is a great spot with its complex of ponds filled with thermal water, saunas, open solaria, and baths.

Make sure you visit Budapest, the Pearl of the Danube, which is one of the ten most beautiful cities in Europe. Spend some time here looking at the rich architecture and many monuments the city is filled with. Go to the Buda Palace, the Fishing Bastion, and the Great Synagogue, or just hop on a city tour to make sure you don't miss any of the many tourist destinations in this city. The Budapest Museum has works of Rafael and Leonardo amongst many other masters. So, if you are an art aficionado, make your way to this spot as well.

The final vacation location is not off the much beaten trail, and will undeniably be extremely crowded in August. No holiday guide will be complete without describing the beauty of Italy. Century after century, holiday-makers come from around the globe to view the beauty of this country and its many splendours. Whether you come here for the beaches, the shopping, food, or the architecture, it is very easy to fall in love with Italy.

Go to Rome and sight the Coliseum, the Pantheon and the Vatican. The city is a proud one due to the countless architectural works it possesses. Visit Verona if you are romantic by nature and desire to see the city that inspired Shakespeare to write his loads of masterpieces. Florence, the capital, is filled with museums, and a history lover will find himself at home here. If you are in the mood to look at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, then head over to Pisa and observe this wonder for yourself. Milan, the fashion hub of the world is next in line, and if you are interested in witnessing the latest works of D&G or Armani, head down here to see them.

So, make sure that this summer you arrange a great getaway for yourself and your loved ones by arranging a holiday that you can keep in mind with fondness. Plan a holiday that preferably takes you to a less crowded location, but at the same time gives you with a lot of pleasure. - 16003
