Today there's a plethora of labels for what multilevel marketing actually is. Here's my two cents: multilevel marketing is a business model using word of mouth as its primary means to distribute products and services. Doing this through a network of others generates business revenue for the company which can produce residual wealth over time for you.
To me these are the most important pieces to a network marketing enterprise: (1) Marketing efforts to generate potential leads (2) Prospecting your leads and building a relationship with them (3) Promoting products and services to a customer base (4) Training your new distributor business owners to do the same
These parts may sound simple, but if it was you probably wouldn't be reading this article :) The naked truth is that only a smattering of folks really understand how important ALL these network marketing puzzle pieces are and how to arrange them successfully. And these are the convention stage walking, pin-level jumping, you wish-you-were-them, successful network marketers you keep hearing about.
Marketing efforts- this is MARKETING 101 folks. Marketing is effective communication to a laser targeted audience that makes them do something. That something could be to opt in to a list, register for a webinar or join your network marketing venture. If you don't spend time getting the marketing basics down be prepared to spend a lot of your precious time being frustrated because your business may grow quite slowly.
Prospecting your leads and relationship building - this involves understanding the mind of a prospect and asking them enough of the right questions and dealing with their inevitable objections to quickly know if they're right for your multilevel marketing business. You've got to talk to your prospects at some point and you can't hide behind some automated marketing system no matter how good it may be. A prospect will ultimately become a distributor based on their relationship with how they perceive YOU.
Offering products and services - Your network marketing business is DOA everyday you aren't moving any products or services or the business and the word isn't getting out. Ideally you should have a marketing system that does the bulk of the telling and selling for you. But you should have a basic understanding of your product/service/business, what it does and why your distributor/customer should obtain it or join.
Training others - Once someone enters your business - hooray! You've gotten past a big hurdle. Most don't even get THAT far. Here's your next big challenge. You need to train your new distributor to do what you've just done. This is where systems can be extremely helpful. If you have a proven standardized training system then you can and should plug your new distributor right into this program. Training is key because statistics show that if a new distributor isn't making any money after 90 days they will drop out. Most distributors have a hard time at this point because they haven't themselves been trained properly by their upline. You need to make sure that YOU have the proper training yourself so you can go ahead and train your own downline and they can train theirs, maximizing your multilevel marketing business success. - 16003
